IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU

okay, this is not fascinating right off the bat and I KNOW it's North Carolina, but - just read on down.

Clayton man charged with habitual impaired driving

A Clayton man has been charged with habitual impaired driving after a Wake County sheriff's deputy says he was driving a moped while drunk Saturday.

Deputies wrote in an arrest warrant that Eric F. Scarborough, of 322 W. Second St., was driving his moped erratically on Poole Road. He had red, glassy eyes and an strong odor of alcohol but refused to take a blood test, the warrant states.

okay, so that is in no way interesting EXCEPT: when did "habitual impaired driving" become a charge? I AM FRIGHTENED U GUYZ SRSLY. tell me this is not some wacky new law enforcement trend that is sweeping the nation.

  4. Its probably not his first time being pulled over for this, probably why he's riding a scooter. Theres a guy that rides up and down my street going about 10mph on a good day. Cheap busted up 49cc chinese scoot with a busted tail light and I always see it parked outside a few bars on broadway. This guy will get the "habitual" ticket before any of us will. lol

  6. yeah, i know -"habitual" for him probably means "another day, another dui." it's just... creeping standards of overlegislation. *everything* is an offense, even if you don't know it. everything not forbidden is compulsory, everything not compulsory is forbidden... you know. kinda creeps me out how they make free to arbitrarily invent charges off the cuff now when they can't find anything else.

    kay.... off soapbox now. sorry

  7. Never apologize. It's justifiable to be nervous about things like this. All the more reason to do everything you can to be legal.

  8. BUT LEGAL IS BORING :D :D :D

my sanford-and-son neighbors gave me a little kid's skate helmet, i painted it and imma put a hockey mask on the front of it. I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE BEETO WHEN I GROW UP.

they'll probably come up with a way to give you a ticket for having a nonstandard helmet, too. watch, that'll be the next move for Nanny State Colorado.
